National Women's Alliances
The National Women’s Alliances bring together over 120 women’s groups and communities. Each of the six Alliances focuses on a different theme or group of women. All Alliances are working to bring the voices of women to policy and decision makers in Government.
The National Women’s Alliances are celebrating 100 years of International Women’s Day with their own unique events. Here is a snapshot of the Alliances fabulous celebrations:
Celebrating and honouring 100 Women for 100 years of Women’s leadership and activism in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.
“Don’t be short changed” – a campaign that focuses on building awareness of the Gender Pay Equity Gap in Australia.
“Rural Women – Networking 21st Century Style” – connecting women in rural and remote areas with an interactive webinar with host of the ABC’s Compass, Geraldine Doogue.
Highlighting the contribution of immigrant and refugee women to Australia, the IWD and the women’s movement.
Producing a timeline of significant events and achievements affecting Australian women.
